What are extractions?
If a tooth has completely broken down and become infected, sometimes there is nothing for it but to remove the tooth so that the infection can be removed with it. We do everything we can to avoid losing teeth but sometimes it is not possible to save them.
Who is it for?
If between you and the dentist you agree that the only way to go is to lose the tooth that’s what we will do.
How does it work?
We get the tooth thoroughly numbed up and once we are sure that you are not going to feel anything we loosen the tooth and lift it out. We make sure there is a good clot present before we let you go home with aftercare instructions and then we follow you up the next day by phone to make sure you are doing OK.
How long does it take?
As always it depends. Sometimes it is really straightforward and takes a matter of a few minutes and sometimes it can be more complex. We would let you know beforehand if we expected any complications.
How much does it cost?
Depending on complexity of the extraction, extractions cost from £230 (£175 for subscription members). You will be given a treatment plan with the price before we commence treatment so there will be no surprises.
